BOISE LIBRARY TRUSTEES PREPARE TO DENY WEST BOISE LIBRARY BRANCH
West Boise Advocates to Hold Press Conference Urging City Council to Act
BOISE, ID – Citizens for a Library in West Boise, joined by community leaders, will host a press conference on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. to advocate for the inclusion of a West Boise library branch in the city’s upcoming facilities plan.
“Library staff are pushing for more square footage at existing facilities without providing a branch in West Boise. Boise Library Trustees approved this plan without question,” said Mark Salisbury, Founder of Citizens for a Library in West Boise. “West Boiseans have been helping fund the city’s library system for years. With a clear gap in coverage, the city now has an opportunity to demonstrate that it listens to its residents by including a West Boise branch in the facilities plan”. The Boise City Council and the Library Board of Trustees meet on Tuesday, February 24 to decide priorities for Boise’s library system for the next 20+ years.
